Another really strong aspect of this book is the struggle that the characters go through. Ever since Jackson arrived her breathing seems to be doing better. True, I didnt understand every word they were saying since its a different dialect and everything.

Before we get to the reveal, here’s a message from Meredith: A perfect summer beach read! She manages to be stubborn, strong, shy, innocent, brave and filled with love for her family and for Jackson. Will Savannah help Jackson realize that he should go after his dream, no matter what it takes?

Nov 13, April rated it really liked it. Another problem I had was how inexplicably clingy Savannah was to Jackson. At first it looks like she’s right.

The word condom is used once, but no description of what it is or its use. Breathing made me mourn summer.

Child like innocence, random tempers, as well as the hidden love for her family. There were hints and clues in some areas but I really had to chetyl through the book, read between the lines, to really get that he was uncertain.

A very fine debut. This was a pretty clean book. Log in now or Create an account. It was just so distracting, because it made me wonder if people really talk like that, since I know tons of Southerners who basically talk the same as me except with an accent. I really liked Savannah’s voice and her attitude towards life. Savannah was a poignant teen with an adorable sense of humor that you just couldnt help but sympathize with. After Jackson leaves, all she could think about chegyl him.

Watching Savannah come into her own over one summer, meeting the love of her life Jackson, and learning things about herself she never knew were possible. To see a list of our top reviewers, click here!

There is kissing, passionate kissing, and it mentions making out. I felt a disconnect with the characters most, if not all, of the cheyl. She splits her time between reading trashy romance novels in the summer, looking out for her little brother, working at the library, and hanging out at the beach.

The thoughts and feelings of Savannah are exactly how I remember dealing with love, family, and trials then. Jul 06, Veronica rated it liked it.

Savannah would be happy to spend the summer in her coastal Carolina town working at the library and lying in a hammock reading her beloved romance novels. Her free time circles around him even though he was not therefinding him jobs, phoning him constantly. She spent all her free time looking for a job for him, talking to him on the phone, thinking about him, the things were endless.

This book was so adorable, I loved it. Savannah’s brother, Dog, is the only one who sounded right for his age.

Savannah would chery happy spending the summer working at the library and reading. May 14, Alea rated it really liked it Shelves: I did, however, feel like this book used more of this language than was necessary. She built her entire life around him, even refusing an opportunity that she was oh so excited for just because it would mean she couldn’t be with Jackson, and she breatning so caught up in him him him, that she got in fights with her yb over a dozen times, and even almost lost her best friend.

The book comes full circle to center on the family and it’s importance in the life of teens. I could hear the story in my head with Savannah’s accent, I think that really helped ground the story in a culture and a location.
